Millions of people around the country are left in limbo as the stimulus program stalls since the outgoing President left Washington threatening to veto it. Motivations for why he would do this are varied; perhaps he is trying to get back at top republicans for recognizing the new President-elect Biden, or perhaps he doesn't like the fact that the proposal includes liability protection for companies such as Twitter and Facebook, or maybe he just wants to stir more chaos on his way out the door.
How long is the wait?
If the President does veto the bill, then Congress will reconvene to override the veto when they get back from the Holiday break. Unfortunately, many people will have to wait until after the new year to receive assistance.
It really didn't have to be this way.
